Flood update 1st October

We sustained close to £200,000 of damage within the building and, if it wasn’t for the unbelievable help and support from Coaches, Parents, Fire service, TA soldiers and local companies there would have been more devastation.

We are now in the process of putting things right, our new tumble run is in place and we have lowered the track which in itself was a big job.  Lots of below-ground work has been done by our super volunteers to improve our IT systems.  We have had great support from Aviva through Weir Insurance Company, Sport England and the Newcastle City Council.

We moved part of the Academy into temporary warehouse accommodation in July  and back ‘home’ again in September.  Thanks to all our parents and volunteers who assisted with those fun processes 🙂

The drainage around the building is being addressed so hopefully this won’t happen again, the pits are going to be re-tanked and we now have the opportunity to make changes to the gym so that it will be better than it was when we first opened in 2001.   A loan floor arrived this weekend, with our new, permanent floor area and matting arriving in around 3 weeks.  Helpers are painting the skirting boards and putting the finishing touches to the gym.  It’s all very exciting…We’re getting there – as you can see from the picture gallery below.
