TeamGym coaches selection (Icelandic clinic)

Abbie Rutter coach to the TeamGym Junior National squad at City of Newcastle Gymnastics Academy has been selected for an amazing opportunity to represent British Gymnastics and study coaching techniques in Iceland.

Abbie is one of only 6 coaches to have been chosen from a huge number of applicants for their potential as the next generation of TeamGym performance coaches.

The coaches will work with former Danish National Coach and current Icelandic National Coach – Henrik Pillgard at the training centre in Stjarnan, Iceland. The intention of the trip is forge a closer working relationship with the Icelandic Federation, to inspire the young coaches and to bring back new ideas and training techniques.

City of Newcastle Gymnastics Academy is extremely proud of Abbie and her achievements. Enjoy the experience.

TeamGym Junior Boys take Silver at British

Well done to coach Scott and his Junior Boys – silver medalists at the TeamGym 2015 British Championships held at the Liverpool Echo Arena.

TeamGym 2015 British Championships – Liverpool Echo Arena

We’re pleased to report that our Youth Level 3 came in an excellent 5th place at the recent TG British, with our Senior Women winning Silver.

Well done to all coaches and gymnasts who throughly enjoyed a great weekend at an exciting new venue !

Camp Ollerup 2015

13 CNGA gymnasts enjoyed a fantastic trip to Ollerup from 2nd-7th August.  Our gymnasts learned lots of new skills and made lots of friends from Norway and Germany.  We can’t wait for next year!

Job Description

Job title: Recreational Gymnastics Coach (casual)

Location: City of Newcastle Gymnastics Academy

Hourly Rate: TBC

Allowances: None

Responsible to: Head of Recreational Gymnastics

The City of Newcastle Gymnastics Academy provides quality facilities and the development of gymnastics throughout the North of England. The Gymnastics Academy creates the best opportunities, inspires and develops gymnasts for all abilities.

Applicants will need:

  • Qualification Required: Minimum Level 1 WA/MA/General/TG
  • Gymnastics Coaches must be a full member of British Gymnastics and agree to abide by its rules and Code of Conduct as well as the child Protection Policy.
  • Previous experience of working with children
  • Access DBS
  • Available to work evenings and weekends

 

Job Duties: Working with children to help them develop their gymnastic skills, setting up and checking the equipment on a daily basis, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout all of the premises as well as the equipment. Delivering activity classes for children of all ages as well as school groups.
