Did you know that British Gymnastics have recently created a new charity called the  British Gymnastics Foundation?

The motivation for setting up the British Gymnastics Foundation is to provide considerable benefit for the public; ensuring that communities and individuals are positively impacted by its activities. In particular, the British Gymnastics Foundation will strive to develop people and help people reach their full potential through sport; providing opportunities to improve peoples’ lives and strengthen communities with the positive influence of sport. The British Gymnastics Foundation will be working closely in partnership with British Gymnastics, to add value in the following three focus areas initially:

  1. Disability gymnastics;
  2. Gymnastics in schools; and
  3. Providing assistance to those experiencing hardship who may wish to participate in gymnastics.

For the purpose of BGF’s Hardship Grants scheme, BGF defines significant financial hardship as being a shortage of finances which has the effect of ending people’s involvement in gymnastics or makes it unreasonably difficult for people to continue to be involved in gymnastics.

Who is eligible to apply for BGF Hardship grants?
Current members of British Gymnastics who are experiencing financial difficulty which is affecting their continued involvement in gymnastics (including gymnastics coaches, gymnasts, gymnastics volunteers, gymnastics administrators)
