British National Development Plan Championships 2011

Over the weekend 14/15th May 11 The City of Newcastle Gymnastics Academy sent 9 boys to represent the North region at the British National Development Plan Championships at the GMAC Stadium in Birmingham. This resulted in the club walking away with 2 British champions, 1 Bronze medallist and Team silver.

In the Level 5 age group, Nathen Smith took Gold medal whilst James Hodgson narrowly missed out on the bronze medal finishing in 4th place with Lewis Graham finishing in 19th place. Together as a team they produced a great performance to finish with a team silver medal.

In the Level 4 age group, Daniel Nagy took Gold medal along with a perfect 10 on parallel Bars whilst Harry Ross took Bronze medal, alongside this James Stewart produced a personal best score to make this a very successful round of competition.

In the Level 3 age group, Danny Jones and Joseph Cuthbert produced personal best scores, as so did Billy Hibbert in the Level 2 age group in his first ever competition.

Fantastic results putting Men’s gymnastics back on the map for the North.
